Hello, followers! I am going under the assumption that we still have followers as most of you have probably grown tired of coming back to find no new posts. Well don't be bitter. Here it is! Does it's glory and grandeur delight you? Are you not entertained?
Despite all the sarcasm and wit, I do apologize and find myself moving on from my lackluster tenacity regarding timely blog posts. Quite honestly, I grew annoyed with the blog. It was not so much the task of coming up with interesting things to write about that annoyed me. It was the setting up and laying out the format of our blog that is time consuming and monotonous. It would turn into a few days of twisting and pulling like taffy in my brain to get paragraphs to line up and stay positioned. But alas, my blogging woes have been chased away by a newly discovered blogging application that allows the user, "me", to simply type and deliver my posts to the masses, "you", without having to recreate the web site every time I post our new adventure.
We have had quite a bit on our plate since our last posting. Our move east and subsequently north improved our frozen spirits. Alabama welcomed us with twisters and some heavy rains. We fared well and welcomed the warmer weather when it graced the area. South Carolina was a welcome site after an awful trip around Atlanta. No matter how hard we tried to avoid the well renowned Atlanta traffic, it seemed that traffic was hell bent on finding us. They need a loop to bypass their outer loop. Though the northern tip of South Carolina yielded beautiful weather for a birthday outing to The Melting Pot and a scenic visit to the Liberty Bridge in Greensville, we grew tired of our tight spacing at the campground. Carolina Landing is set on very hilly terrain where the RV's are set somewhat close together with each site looking down or up into the adjoining site. Not great for letting it all hang out or simply enjoying a book while your neighbor is trying to eyeball the title from their dinette window. At least we finally got the chance to venture out into the surrounding area to explore and visit our favorite driver's hometown history in Dawsonville, GA. Though we stayed in North Carolina during our initial test launch of this adventure, our most recent stay was our official visit to the area just southwest of Winston-Salem. Our favorite NC residents, Tim and Monica Fusetti, visited with us during our stay and left us with some points of interest. It was very satisfying to find that we still had friends in far off places. A surprise visit from daughter, Courtney, on Mother's Day yielded a long weekend of laughter and a tour of Andy Griffith's Mayberry in Mount Airey, NC. Once Courtney moved out, it was time to celebrate... (allow for shock or snickering)... to celebrate our anniversary; 3 years married, 36 years friends. Ain't love grand? The pandemic is still effecting public spaces as we discovered in Charlotte. It was our hope to visit the some of the NASCAR sites but we found much of what we wanted to see still closed to the public due to health and safety concerns. A short trip to Colonial Beach, VA lent us a couple of days of flat terrain to enjoy our bicycles. I don't do hills all that well as was made painfully apparent when the road dipped down to sea level and back up to the neighborhood we were exploring. Our shortened visit to Virginia allowed us to secure a spot at our favorite Freightliner Service garage for Periodic Maintenance, (PMservice for the pros at home). This PM revealed an aging radiator and also, after a week in the garage, revealed just how twenty years can make an expensive job even more costly. What was the result of all of these revelations? Well, to make this blog more interesting, we're going to put a pin in this and get back to you at a later time because everyone loves suspense.
Enjoy the new blog format!
