Dead Zone? No, It's Just Texas

Where on earth are these updates?! Are they lost in space? I cannot say that I am the avid blogger, pounding away at the keyboard, detailing every nuance of our travels. By now, most of you should know this. There is no extraordinary excuse. It is what it is and I hope y'all will forgive me. Yep, we're still in Texas, y'all! Yee to the Haw.

I must rightfully get the administrative duties out of the way and answer another burning question regarding the inability to comment on the blog posts. It would seem, for some of our followers, your words of encouragement can be left below the posts we make. Yet for a vast majority of you, no comments can be left at all, even though you are subscribers. Unfortunately, you must go through the task of signing up via the blog page. When you attempt to comment, a "Sign Up" dialog box appears and this request informs me that you want to make comments. Sorry, no way around it. I've already tried to give everyone automatic access to no avail.

Okay, now that Q&A time is over, lets get down to the meat of this post. We have spent a considerable amount of time in Texas on the azz end of winter. This has proven to be a much better experience in the Lone Star state than previous years. Both 2021 and 2022 we found Texas, during the beginning of winter, less than hospitable. Since mid March we have been moving about central Texas and have watched the temperatures climb. The wind and threat of tornadoes have also increased, but it is safe to say that it's a lot better than snow in the south. Presidential history has been the exploration of choice and it has been interesting to understand the rise from ordinary citizen to the most powerful man in the White House. It is our goal to learn more about our Commanders in Chief as the opportunities arise.

Some extra time has been allotted for our stay in Texas to accommodate family time. Young Ryan and his wife recently moved to the Dallas area for new jobs and a new forever home. Extending our stay made more visits with them possible and every opportunity is, without question, a must. We have one week left, staying near Amarillo, before we head west into New Mexico and then onward north to Colorado for a month. The additional time to visit with Ryan changed our thoughts and our direction of travel over the spring and will put us shooting for the east coast by the end of summer. This is the beauty of living on the road. Plans can change, courses can be altered and memories can still be had. It has been the trajectory of our lives over the past three years. Unknown with so many possibilities.

As with any home we've had, building to suit our needs has been another constant. Though we still dream of upgrading our current rig, we have been in the slow process of making more alterations to satisfy our storage desires and a smarter working kitchen. Remodeling on the road has it's challenges. Though most of the changes are more like upgrading hardware, we are building new drawers and performing a face-lift of the cabinets and counter top. I still have some of the tools that I used as before, though I try to use them sparingly or quietly. There's nothing like the sound of a circular saw in a campground at 10:00 am. Ahhh, nature.

The kiddies are doing well. Gracie has her perch outside the living room window that she demands now that the weather is nice. Chase is always in the mood for a day out to the park to run himself to exhaustion. Tez still grinds away at her workstation making mountains of coding work into small piles of paycheck. I too have been creating small piles of cash decorating interiors of our fellow campers' trailers and motorhomes with wall words and the like. All is well in our little world. Our world will be moving tomorrow, though. Off to Roaring Springs, TX to take in another view and I must get to packing the rest of our belongings into the lower bays. Good luck to all y'all, in whatever direction the days take you.
